Handcrafting Batiks

Batik is a process of coloring cloth using paint to provide the color and wax to prevent the paint from coloring selected parts of the cloth.

Displaying and Wearing Batiks

Once a batik cloth has been ironed many times through multiple layers of paper until no traces of wax are visible, it is ready to be displayed.

Hand Weaving Tapestries

Hand weaving of tapestries has been done for thousands of years and is one of the oldest methods of producing textiles. Traditionally natural fibers such as wool were used, but modern artists may also use interesting synthetic fibers and mixtures.

Displaying Tapestries

Tapestries designed by creative weavers are works of art suitable for display by framing.
